SLOVAKIA

The NSOI team initially engaged the Slovak Republic in May 2011. A joint action plan with its government was signed in December 2011.

The joint action plan includes 45 priority steps to enhance Slovakia’s capabilities to combat nuclear smuggling.  Of these steps, 24 involve ongoing efforts that need to be completed, and 21 comprise new efforts that should be undertaken.  Several of these steps include areas where Slovakia has committed to share its experience with other partners in the region.

The current fact sheets for the Slovak Republic can be found here.  The fact sheets contain all relevant information about the purpose of the projects, the recipient ministries and agencies, the specific needs to be addressed, the activities to be undertaken, the final objectives of the projects, and the status of current international funding.
