AFGHANISTAN
A multi-agency NSOI delegation began the NSOI engagement with Afghanistan by holding a videoconference with a broad-based Afghan delegation in February 2008.
In September 2010, the NSOI team traveled to Kabul and completed with a similar Afghan delegation a provisional joint action plan and a list of priority assistance projects to support implementation of the joint action plan.
The Afghan government is now reviewing the joint action plan for approval to sign it as a government-to-government agreement.

Following approval and signature of the joint action plan, the Afghan government will begin to implement the steps it can carry out on its own and the NSOI team will begin to solicit donors for the priority assistance projects.
