

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO NSOI first engaged the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in March 2010 and signed a joint action plan with the government of the DRC in December 2010.
The joint action plan includes 45 priority steps to improve Congolese capabilities; 20 of these steps involve ongoing efforts that need to be completed, and the remaining 25 involve new efforts that should be undertaken.
The joint list of priority assistance projects includes three projects on radioactive sources, three on border and internal detection, one on improved communication and coordination among DRC ministries, one on nuclear forensics, one on training and sustainability, and one on anti-smuggling laws.
