

MOLDOVA
The NSOI team initially engaged the Republic of Moldova in June 2010. A joint action plan with its government was signed in July 2011.
The joint action plan includes 45 priority steps to enhance Moldova’s capabilities to combat nuclear smuggling. Of these steps, 16 involve ongoing efforts that need to be completed, and 29 comprise new efforts that should be undertaken.
The joint list of priority assistance projects includes two on radioactive sources, two on border detection, one on nuclear forensics, two on responding to smuggling incidents of RN materials, one on strengthening Moldova’s laws regarding RN materials smuggling, and one on anti-corruption training.
