DETAILS OF ASSISTANCE BEING PROVIDED TO NSOI-IDENTIFIED PROJECTS

NORWAY

Norway has provided funding through the U.S. Department of Energy's Second Line of Defense (SLD) program to improve the Government of Kazakhstan's detection capability at key crossing points on its land borders. The Norwegian contribution is funding provision of radiation detection and other equipment needed to outfit several border crossings, as well as equipment installation and related training. Norway has also provided funding through SLD for monitoring equipment at the Almaty airport.
